Antique shops, unique boutiques, art galleries, and appetizing eateries line the streets of Historic Downtown. The Old Town Antique Mall in the heart of downtown offers nearly 7,000 square feet of shopping delights and features almost 100 antique vendors. Oregon Books and Games offers a wide variety of new and used books, including an impressive array of e-books. The Grants Pass Shopping Center is home to several of restaurants, service providers, and shops, including Dutch Bro's Coffee, Hunan Garden, Black Forest, Maurice’s, PETCO, Ross, Rite Aid, Famous Footwear, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store, KFC, GNCHeroesThe Pita Pit, Goodwill and Staples. Locally sourced produce (including the area’s famous pears), meats, and artisan goods can be purchased on Saturday mornings from March through Thanksgiving at the Growers’ Market.

Parks and Recreation

The city’s location along the Rogue River, combined with its perfectly mild climate, ensure plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. Rafting, fly fishing, and hiking along the river are a few of the locals’ favorite activities. Tourists and residents also enjoy the city’s 21 parks and green spaces, which includes Caveman Pool. Most of the city’s parks feature picnic areas, playgrounds, sports fields, ball courts, and open spaces. Some also offer horseshoes, dog runs, tennis, fishing, and event rentals. Riverside Park has an exceptional children’s playground complete with play-safe tractor and steamroller, a disc golf course, river access, and a festival area. Tom Pearce Park is a 108-acre park run by the county that features hiking and biking trails, equestrian trails, picnicking, volleyball, ball fields, an 18-hole disc golf course, and more. Located just 20 miles east of Grants Pass, the Oregon Caves National Monument offers guided tours through the underground marble corridors of the Siskiyou Mountains.


Though known for its exceptional recreation and plentiful shopping and dining opportunities, Grants Pass also has a well developed arts and culture scene. Schools, Health, and Transportation

Grants Pass School District No. 7 operates most of the schools in the city. Private school options include New Hope Christian Schools, Grants Pass Seventh-Day Adventist School, Vineyard Christian School, St. Anne Catholic School, and Brighton Academy.

Grants Pass is home to several top quality medical centers and hospitals. The Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon is the region’s most popular OB/GYN clinic and serves patients from throughout Southern Oregon. Outpatient surgical procedures are handled at the Grants Pass Surgery Center, which specializes in everything from general surgery to pediatric dental surgery and urology. The 125-bed Three Rivers Community Hospital provides acute medical care and emergency care services to area residents.

There are a number of different ways to travel around Grants Pass and the surrounding area. Bicyclists enjoy the safe city and county bike routes for commuting and the state’s many biking trails for recreation. Easy access to I-5 makes for convenient traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest region. The Josephine Community Transit system operates bus routes in Grants Pass and the surrounding communities five days a week. Greyhound buses also stop in Grants Pass. Domestic and international air travel is available at the Rogue Valley International Airport in nearby Medford.
